Online Divorce Forum
This Online Divorce Forum
is the best place to learn about using a service to either do your divorce paperwork
for you (like Legalzoom) or for you to use their software and do it yourself (like with Rocketlawyer or US Legal Forms). All of these companies are very reputable, with terrific BBB ratings. If you think you might try it, you can ask your questions about the process here.
- Legalzoom is one of the best companies out there for this service, because they do all the paperwork FOR YOU, for only about $299. This includes the Marital Settlement Agreement, which is the document you and your ex will show to the court to divide your property. This includes parenting time with children. There is another form for custody arrangements, which Legalzoom also provides. The only drawback is that they are not available in 8 states.
- Rocketlawyer is terrific because they put all the documents into your hands for free, once you pay for the membership. You could pay either $20 a month for a month-to-month membership (which I wouldn't recommend because you'll probably need a few months to do the divorce paperwork), or you could pay $100 for the year, which is only about $9 a month! You just download the software and you start typing in your info. You are in complete control of the process, and can make unlimited changes.
- 3StepDivorce.com is THE BEST option if you have some potential issues keeping you from getting divorced. They actually give you some mediation for that last issue! So, for the price of a DIY divorce, this company gives you WAY more BANG for your BUCK!. Read their review here!
- US Legal Forms is another do it yourself company. But, unlike Rocketlawyer, US Legal works on a flat fee per item, so if you want the Divorce paperwork, you pay $59 (or whatever the fee might be in your state), then tack on further amounts for each additional document. This is ok if you have a limited number of documents.
Note: Always consult with an attorney before making your legal decisions. Get some free consults to ask the most important questions, read our disclaimer and further reading below. And, check with your library for reference books that might help you with your situation. Librarians have always helped me find what I needed!
