Mediation Forum

This Mediation Forum is the place to learn if mediation could help you during your divorce. Mediation is a way to resolve conflicts between partners, however, what both parties agree to may be different than what is considered the "norm."

For instance, some partners may agree to more child support or less child support for various reasons, such as a bargain for more or less money from another source (sale of home).

Always remember, with mediation, anything that is agreed upon is not legally binding. The partners must get a property settlement agreement or a marital settlement agreement signed and turned into the courts for it to be legally binding. (These documents are one of the documents that is part of the divorce anyhow). This agreement can be done way before the divorce, so that both parties can begin receiving the benefits that they are agreeing to.
