Do I need a Divorce Attorney to check this?

I thought it would be standard procedure when filing for divorce, for both parties to check credit reports so they can make sure that any joint loans, accounts, etc... can be separated.

Do lawyers do this or not? Or is it solely your own responsibility?

Ex: A spouse may have forgotten that they took out a loan or that they have a joint savings or credit card.
